One easy tip to keep comforable in the cold: (Or maybe I might have missed it, as is is an easy thing to do)
Bring a hot drink in a thermos jug with you – tea or whatever you like.
Here is how I do it:
1) Test the thermos at home with hot water – some leak if they aren’t in an upright position
2) Bring small, non-thermos cups for everybody in your group: non-thermos because warming you fingers on it is an extra benefit and small so that you can drink it up before it gets cold
3) bring a small amount of cold water in a light,non-isolated bottle: If you fill the tea into your thermos when it is really hot it will be still too hot to drink when you first pour it – but no problem, fill only half of the cups and adjust to perfect drinking/holding temperature with your exta water. This will make the content ouf your bulky and heavy thermos jug last longer with just a bit of extra weight.
