Another interesting podcast and very good report from Cully Long about the events in Australia. What I find interesting is that Australia has its own event rules and guidelines and can organize things that would never be allowed in other countries like the Netherlands (to give an example). That might explain some differences down south 😉

The last time I moved was over 25 years ago, so geocaching wasn’t in the picture. However, I do have some thoughts about considerations related to geocaching during a move. Besides the obvious adopting/archiving geocaches in the current location prior to the move, I would start looking to attend events in the new location to start getting to know the local cachers. If there are no events scheduled that you can attend, host one yourself during a house hunting or other pre-move trip to the new area. Any caches that are going to be archived, retrieve the containers and hunt for possible locations near the home to place caches. Possible cache locations could even be scouted during pre-move visits if time permits.
