I am pretty sure that having a pic taken at the cache cannot be a requirement according to Groundspeak.
Of course it is appreciated especially for earthcaches but can only be optional.
Yes, it can be a requirement. Even more, it has to be taken in the right way or right direction. https://coord.info/GC8911E is an example. The log is only approved when the pictures has been taken in west or east direction.
I have only recently started listening to the show, so I didn’t know that explaining your Cache name was something you do on a regular basis. I have learned that this is always the easiest way to start a conversation with another Cacher and I do like to explain where mine originated from.
So for me, Cache MACS. I wanted something that my whole family could agree upon. What better than our names we could all have part in it. MACS is simply MIKE, ANNDREW, CRYSTAL, and SYDNEY. It was not some hip or slang word. Cache was obvious referring to the game, but also it goes back to what a cache was. A stash, a secret hiding spot that you would store something precious. My family is the most precious thing I have, so I thought it was a fitting name.
We started out as a caching family, but as time went on and the kids got older and there dad maybe took them out one or maybe one thousand too many hikes. The team slowly became mostly the Mike of the group. Now that they are older though, some of the memories they talk about a lot did involve Caching and our precious moments.
