As I’m listening to the show about this awesome event, and thinking of other great events like Geowoodstock, and the few Giga events that have occurred, I thought about how all these events started from the first one – GC389 Ausin Geocachers Happy Hour. I wasn’t there for that event as it was a few years before I started, but I don’t think it was much more than a handful of cachers getting together to sit and swap caching stories. I went to the 10th Anniversary event that was held in honor of that event. It was a lot of fun, but even it doesn’t hold a candle to what goes on at these larger events.
If you’re a cacher who has never gone to an event of any sort, I encourage you to do so. Whether it’s a Mega, a Giga, a flash mob, or just a meet & greet at the local burger joint or coffee shop, they’re a lot of fun.
