I’ve been going to Geowoodstock since it was in Carnation (VIII). IMHO, this had the best location out of all of them. If the weather had turned bad, all still would have went well. Having the Lab Caches on site was a great idea. I never would have guessed the treasures hidden in those buildings. There was so much to do that I didn’t do it all.
One thing is for sure – if some says they went to Geowoodstock XIII, you mention WVTim, and they say “Who?”. then they either didn’t go or are suffering from severe memory loss.
NIce that you had so much fun at Geowoodstock! In the same weekend I was with the Gutenberg-event in Mainz, Germany. This event in the city centre of Mainz was more nearly 3 times the size of Geowoodstock and also very impressive. Of course there were labcaches too. 🙂
I know the area around Geowoodstock is interesting. I was there on a bicycle ride from Pittsburgh to New York City via Washington DC en Philadelphia. I saw the battlefields at Antietam, walked over the Mall, included a visit to the Smithsonian and saw a lot of US history in Philadelphia. For me as an European I saw this as the heartland of the making of the USA.
That is why I enjoyed your report in the Podcast, thanks for that!
