Remember, kids, caches are not typically found among a herd of porcupines.

Nice micro show. It reminds me of my 1000th geocache found. I had chosen a specific multi-caches in the dunes at the sea coast where I live in the Netherlands: Liebe im Krieg (GC1ZFEQ).

That multi is about a series of bunkers in the dunes from the 2nd World War. In this multi you need a flash light because most of the clues are inside the dark bunkers. There is also a story, the multi starts with an ammobox where you pick up a sheet with the story that has to be followed via the waypoints.

When I was struggling halfway to find another clue from a waypoint, a newbie geocacher approached with his family. I was proud that I was working at my 1000th geocache when they had less than 10 founds. But then they found the clue in less than a minute after I had spent so much time and effort. After this waypoint we did the rest of the multi together. End at the end of the multi cache, signing the log, I had become a very modest cacher, knowing that I still had a lot to learn. And now, after more than 3000 founds I’m still learning.

Thank you for the micro show.

Just wondering how many cachers like me had the urge to go hide a “Herd of Porcupines” cache?

The actual term for a group of porcupines is a “Prickle”. 🙂
