Needs maintenance log
I think a needs maintenance or needs archived can be logged even on your first find.
Only in the log you have to explain why clearly.
A NA log like, hey, this cache is in a minefield, is just as valid if posted by a newbie as by a 20K finder.
It just comes down to normal sence, and a good explanation.
Keep on caching
The Puffin
Hello S,S, & S,
I have found two caches that challenged me to post a “NA” or “NM”?
The first one had deteriorated with numerous “NM” as well as “Wet Log”, post, we ended up adding a new log. After returning home I was able to check the CO’s profile and realized the CO had not logged a find or been active for more than five years. We ended up posting a NA and after the local reviewer had Archived the cache we went back and removed our replacement log.
The second one was at an access point for a river where a muggle friend and I went fishing. I only found a Geocaching ID card but no container or log. I refreshed the cache with a replacement container as well as a new log and placed it in an obvious hide location. After returning home I checked the CO’s profile and found that he had not been active for a year.
Yeah … really interested in that new geocaching card game!!!
I already play a lot of card games and just love it. You guys poked my curiosity about this new game.
Thanks for mentioning in your geocaching podcast.
Speaking of Kickstarter projects, Check out the Chair-Pak on Kickstarter. This is a project to improve the back pack. I have been using one of these back packs for several years and mine is getting worn, and these look like a great replacement.
