Interesting story about GPS/INS. I’m surprised it doesn’t mention that most (all?) in car GPS systems have INS. My Toyota Prius GPS system has INS and it works pretty well tracking me through tunnels, parking garages, etc. In many areas if I zoom in all the way it has silhouettes of the buildings and it’s fun to watch the triangle icon of the car’s location move through a parking garage with no GPS signals just tracking speed and direction. When GPS signal returns the icon jumps to the right location (i.e. the street) on the map.
