I wounder if you could post a photo or description of the inside of your cachebag. I can’t seem to find one on their website, and was just wondering what the layout of the inside was. Are there indidual pockets for your GPSr, PDA, pencil, etc, or is it just one big storage area?

I think that EdScott ( http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?id=64339 ) is a geocacher with over 650 finds that doesn’t use a GPS. I’m sure there are more.

We didn’t use a GPS on our first 25+ finds simply because we didn’t have one, and even after ours arrived (very late) from an eBay auction we leave it in the car most times. In the Septermber “Today’s Cacher” we wrote a brief article on how we got started and the fun caching without a GPS was for us. EdSCott’s numbers are awesome, 650+ on whits and I am guessing a pretty good collection of mapping sites. Google Earth is my favorite, it’s simply amazing. For us getting out is the treasure.

A great tip from one of our listeners:

You don’t need to copy and paste coordinates to Google Maps. each cache page on Geocaching.com has a link to Google Maps that will pull up the correct spot! I too, love Google Maps and think it is the best resource for geocaching.

I use GSAK for sorting and planning trips etc, etc. and I found a very useful thing, if you right click on a cache and check out custom url’s there’s one for google maps, that includes the cache name. I think this is a wonderful feature, that way I can keep the print outs identified.

During the show, you mentioned a cacher that had a ton of finds without using a GPS. I believe the cacher to which you referred is WaldenRun. Here’s his profile:

Is the Michigan podcast link correct? Or maybe his site is no more. I was curious because I only own a bike and do all my GC’n while spinning.
    Cache on!
