In this section, we will cover:
- The advantages of audio only media
- Some examples of audio segments you can create
- An overview of upcoming tutorial videos
Advantages of Audio
- Easy to record. Gear can be nimble. An app on a smartphone will do.
- Relatively easy to edit. (Easier than video) Example of free editing software: Audacity
- Easy to consume (i.e. You can’t watch a video while driving, running, etc. … or shouldn’t)
- Can convey most things a video can, but obviously not all. However, some talking head videos are no better than stand alone audio.
Examples of what you could create
- Interview (local cacher, good story to share)
- Record a story about geocaching or something related
- Describe a cool cache
- Relay a news article
- Rants, Raves, Reviews and Roving Reports
- A Rant or a Rave about a topic: opinions, observations, commentary, editorial
- Reviews: an app, tool, website or resource
- Roving Reporter: sound-seeing (audio tour) from an event.
